GP Trainee

During my time as a resident (ANIOS), I mainly gained experience in the Emergency Department (ED) and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). There, I learned to quickly assess and treat acutely ill patients. I enjoyed working with patients from almost all medical specialties.

At the same time, I missed building long-term doctor–patient relationships, and the irregular shift work started to take its toll. On the advice of a friend, I decided to work for a year as a resident in a general practice.

That experience suited me so well that I decided to apply for GP training. In March 2025, I started my training in a duo practice in Overveen. From June 2026 onwards, I will begin the final year of my training, which I am very happy to be doing in this practice. A true urban practice, working with an experienced trainer and an enthusiastic team—I am really looking forward to it.
