Mental Health Practice Nurse (POH-GGZ)

I studied Applied Psychology and completed my POH-GGZ training in Amsterdam in 2024. Since then, alongside my work in specialized youth care, I have been working as a mental health practice nurse. I am present in the practice every other Thursday and Friday. I have a Dutch-British background and am fully bilingual.

In conversations, I find it important that people feel seen, heard, and at ease. I work in a solution-focused and trauma-sensitive way, exploring together with the client what may be helpful given their situation and background. In doing so, I draw on elements from ACT, CBT, positive psychology, systemic therapy, and motivational interviewing.

A few years ago, I also completed a foundational yoga teacher training, followed by training in trauma-sensitive yoga. When helpful, I like to incorporate mindfulness, breathing, or relaxation exercises into sessions.

What I value about working as a POH-GGZ is being able to walk alongside someone for a period of time and, even within a relatively short trajectory, help them take meaningful steps toward greater clarity, calm, and resilience.
